FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to rotate my private images here?

Absolutely. Unlike other online editors, Image Studio works entirely client-side. Your photos never leave your device and are never uploaded to any server, making it the safest way to edit sensitive documents, personal photos, or proprietary assets.

Can I rotate images clockwise and counter-clockwise?

Yes. By default, positive input values rotate your image counter-clockwise. To rotate clockwise, simply input a negative value (for example, -45 degrees) or use the interactive drag tool to rotate in any direction.

What is the difference between rotating by degrees and radians?

Degrees divide a full circle into 360 units, while radians use mathematical pi-based measurements (where 180 degrees equals π radians). We provide both input methods to support standard photography edits as well as precise scientific, mathematical, and engineering requirements.

Are there any file size limits or watermarks?

No. Since the processing power comes from your computer's hardware rather than our servers, there are no file size restrictions, no watermarks, and no usage limits. You can edit massive, high-resolution images completely free.

How to rotate an image online step by step

Rotate your images to any precise angle using degrees, radians, or an interactive visual dial. This tool runs entirely in your browser to adjust your images instantly and securely without server uploads.

1Open the image rotator

This utility allows you to rotate images by custom angles with precision. It features controls to choose between degrees or radians, configure background fill colors for empty corners, and interactively drag a dial to set the angle visually.

2Upload your target images

Click the file picker or drag and drop your image files to load them. You can upload multiple images to rotate them all simultaneously in a batch operation using your configured settings.

3Select degrees or radians

Choose your preferred unit of measurement with the angle unit selector. Switching to Radians sets the input limits from -6.28 to 6.28, whereas Degrees allows values from -360° to 360°. Positive values rotate the image counter-clockwise, while negative values perform a clockwise rotation.

4Customize the background color

When an image is rotated by an angle that is not a multiple of 90 degrees, the canvas must expand to prevent cropping the corners. Use the RGBA color picker to choose the background color and transparency level that will fill these empty corner spaces.

5Rotate and download the results

Click the Rotate button to process your images. The pipeline automatically calculates the expanded dimensions to contain the entire rotated image and outputs the result, which you can preview, download individually, or export as a ZIP archive.
